We just put up our Christmas tree. We had to get an artificial tree this year because we like to chew on the branches so much that we wouldn't have a tree left if we had a real one!

Mom had to put the tree on a table, up out of our reach, but we already managed to get a few ornaments off and chewed them.
From Gus

Well, I must say that October was the hardest month of my young life. All kinds of bad things happened to my family and I just wish that everything could get back to normal.

My Mom and Dad split up and I haven't been able to see my Dad at all. He is my favorite human and I miss seeing him. My Mom thinks it's best if he just stays away for awhile but I'm afraid it will be for a long time and I will forget him! I feel real bad for my Mom. She is so sad. She sits on the couch and cries and I sit right next to her and lick her tears. I don't know what to do to make her happy (I think I heard my Dad say those exact same words). I've been a real good boy so I hope that cheers her up a bit.

If you read my previous post you already know that I got a little too frisky and broke a window. I still have my stitches but will be getting those out soon. It's been real hard for me because I can't do all the things that I normally do - chase my brother, go for walks, and play in the backyard. I've had to just take it easy for the last two weeks. I think maybe I'm a little depressed. I spend a lot of time just lying on the couch with my Mom watching movies. I can't wait until I can just RUN, RUN, RUN!

The saddest thing of all - my cat-brother, Pip, was killed by a car. We are SO sad and miss him so much. My other cat-brother, Percy, is devastated. He sits in the window sill waiting and crying for his brother. I sure hope this month is a happier one.

Shatter Matters

Uh oh, I had a little accident yesterday. Seems I got a little too anxious about a squirrel that was outside and I ran to the living room window, pounced on the glass and CRASH!...it shattered. It scared me and I didn't know what to think. As soon as I walked across the living room my Mom grabbed me - I was bleeding pretty badly from my paw. Yikes. It didn't hurt too badly so I didn't complain at all. My Mom quickly called my veterinarian, wrapped my paw real tight in some stretchy stuff and whisked me off in the car. I LOVE riding in the car so I was pretty excited even though we were going to the doctor!

The doctor looked at my paw and decided that I would need stitches. I was not very happy about being held still while everyone took a peek at my paw but the doctor quickly sedated me and the next thing I remember was my Mom coming to take me home.

I'm home now. I had a very restful night sleeping right next to Mom and I'm pretty frisky today. I just can't stand the plastic bags that Mom has to wrap around my paw so it doesn't get wet - all I want to do is chew them off. Grrrrrrrr!

Our Sister

This is our sister, Bailey. We never got to know her but our Mom talks alot about her. Sometimes Mom even calls us by her name! Silly Mom. I guess we should expect that since Mom had Bailey for 14 years. She passed away in April, 2006.

Mom got Bailey from the Humane Society when she was just 8 1/2 weeks old. She was such a great, loyal dog...and we sure wish we could have met her.

Its me, Gus...and I am one year old today. Wonder what my Mom is cookin' up for a surprise - hopefully some of those yummy homemade peanut butter biscuits I love so much. Can't believe how fast this year has gone and how much fun I've had. In a few more months we'll be celebrating my little brother, Ridley's birthday - that just means more goodies. Yipee!!
