My Story

My Story

Hi, my name is Gus. This is my baby picture - wasn't I cute? I am a Golden Retriever/Yellow Lab mix. I sure am a lucky dog. My Mom found me on Petfinder and rescued me from a great shelter called Joyful Rescues. The ladies there sure were fantastic and I am grateful to have had such a wonderful start in life.  I've grown really fast - I'm already 80 lbs and I just had my first birthday.

I'm super smart - my Mom has taught me all kinds of neat tricks including, roll over, shake, point, bark, and high-five, and she even taught me to ring a bell at the back door when I need to go out! I'm so smart, in fact, I have figured out how to get the top off of the garbage can, how to open the kitchen cupboards and how to steal things out of Mom's purse.

I love to play with my little brother, go for rides in the car and swim in the lake (or any body of water). My life couldn't be better!

If you are thinking of getting a pet please, please, please check out your local shelter or rescue...your new best friend is waiting!!!
